Before your arrival at Hillhouse you will have the chance to discuss menus and requirements with our chef and his team so that we can have everything ready and perfect for your arrival.
Alice Vernon has been our head of food and events for 6 years and has developed her own brand 'By Alice', which has become a very successful catering business in its own right.
Her success is built on the back of delicious food, amazing local ingredients and brilliant service by wonderful staff. Her team are equally at home whether they are cooking you a 5 course tasting menu or leaving you something homemade and delicious to pop in the oven yourself.
Alice and her team are proud to have been instrumental in helping Hillhouse attain Visit Scotland's 'Taste Our Best' award that recognises consistently offering high quality food sourced locally.
We believe in sourcing as much of our menu from the rich resources available locally, firstly in Ayrshire & Arran & then further afield across Scotland & the Islands.
Being Ayrshire based we are spoilt through the changing seasons with an abundance of fantastic produce. The rolling grass fields & local dairies ensure ample supplies of milk, butter & amazing cheeses. Being close to the coast we work with local suppliers to source sustainably caught fish from the West coast & Scottish Islands. We use both Perthshire & Ballantrae lamb. Dry aged beef & the well renowned Ayrshire bacon comes to us from our friendly local butchers. Delicious Ayrshire potatoes & as many local vegetables as we can source throughout the changing seasons are also delivered to our kitchen doors by our Prestwick & Girvan based fruit & vegetable supplier.
Quality is everything & with such amazing ingredients right here on our doorstep why would we source anywhere else.
